【摘要】:Thistestmethoddeterminestotalsulfurinautomotivefuelswithatypicalanalysistimearound10minpersample.Thequalityofautomotivefuelisrelatedtotheamountofsulfurpresent.Knowledgeofsulfurlevelisnecessaryforprocessingpurposes.Sulfurlevelinautomotivefuelsaffectsperformancecharacteristicsandairquality.Federal,state,andlocalagenciesregulatethelevelofsulfurinfueldeliveredatthepump.Thistestmethodcanbereferencedinspecificationdocumentstodetermineifthematerialmeetsthedesiredsulfurcontent.Ifthistestmethodisappliedtopetroleummatriceswithsignificantlydifferentcompositiontothoseusedintheinterlaboratoryprecisionstudy,thenthecautionandrecommendationsinSection6shouldbeobservedwheninterpretingtheresults.1.1Thistestmethodspecifiesanenergy-dispersiveX-rayfluorescence(EDXRF)methodforthedeterminationofthetotalsulfurcontentofautomotivefuelswithaconcentrationrangefrom7mg/kgto50mg/kg.1.1.1Thepooledlimitofquantitationofthistestmethodasobtainedbystatisticalanalysisofinterlaboratorytestresultsis7mg/kgsulfur.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thepreferredconcentrationunitsaremg/kgsulfur.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
