【摘要】:Mostorganicliquidsandsolidswilligniteinapressurizedoxidizinggasatmosphereifheatedtoasufficientlyhightemperatureandpressure.Thisprocedureprovidesanumericalvalueforthetemperatureattheonsetofignitionundercarefullycontrolledconditions.Meansforextrapolationfromthisidealizedsituationtothedescription,appraisal,orregulationoffireandexplosionhazardsinspecificfieldsituations,arenotestablished.Rankingoftheignitiontemperaturesofseveralmaterialsinthestandardapparatusisgenerallyinconformitywithfieldexperience.Thetemperatureatwhichmaterialwillignitespontaneously(AIT)willvarygreatlywiththegeometryofthetestsystemandtherateofheating.Toachievegoodinterlaboratoryagreementofignitiontemperatures,itisnecessarytouseequipmentofapproximatelythedimensionsdescribedinthemethod.Itisalsonecessarytofollowthedescribedprocedureascloselyaspossible.Thedecompositionandoxidationofsomefullyfluorinatedmaterialsreleasessolittleenergythatthereisnoclear-cutindicationofignition.Norwilltherebeaclearindicationofignitionifasamplevolatilizes,distillingtoanotherpartofthereactionvessel,beforereachingignitiontemperature.FIG.1AITEquipmentAssembly1.1Thismethodcoversthedeterminationofthetemperatureatwhichliquidsandsolidswillspontaneouslyignite.Thesematerialsmustignitewithoutapplicationofsparkorflameinahigh-pressureoxygen-enrichedenvironment.1.2Thismethodisintendedforuseatpressuresof2.1to20.7MPa(300to3000psi).Thepressureusedinthedescriptionofthemethodis10.3MPa(1500psi).Themethod,asdescribed,isforliquidsorsolidswithignitiontemperatureintherangefrom60to425176;C(140to800176;F).1.3Thismethodisforhigh-pressurepureoxygen.Themethodmaybeusedinatmospheresfrom0.5%to100%oxygen.1.4Anapparatussuitablefortheserequirementsisdescribed.Thismethodcouldbeappliedtohigherpressuresandmaterialsofhigherignitiontemperature.Ifmoresevererequirementsorotheroxidizersthanthosedescribedaredesired,caremustbetakeninselectinganalternativesafeapparatuscapableofwithstandingtheconditions.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
